Community

The drive and motivation behind IKUNA is the work that we do in the community. Our work as a community organization is rooted in Oakland, California tied directly to our Pacific Islander community. We are excited to announce our upcoming introduction into the Utah market this Fall.

Our goal as IKUNA is to Elevate Culture amongst our youth and community in education, belonging, culture and purpose. aspects of life. We do it in the following ways:
Fananga: A Literacy support for K-5 students. We conduct reading workshops and mentoring to read with students, comprehension, and other literacy exercises in partnership with parents and teachers.
Wayfinder: A youth program/curriculum designed to focus on belonging, culture and purpose. Students discuss identity, self discovery, and connection. We have also found that when students are grounded in their own stories they become more confident and comfortable navigating various spaces they will find themselves in as they grow.
Community: We host various community, social events, workshops and other creative platforms to deliver valuable content to encourage awareness, uplift and engage our Pacific Islander communities in Oakland, CA/Bay Area and soon to Salt Lake City, Utah in the Fall of 2022.
Learn more about the work we do online at www.ikunaed.org  , IG @ikunaed or on Facebook IKUNA Education and join us as we strive to elevate the future of our Pacific Islander communities wherever we are. You can check out some of the work we do on our YouTube channel IKUNAgroup. As a 501(c)3 organization any of your purchases here at IKUNA Apparel directly impacts the community work we do.
All of our events and activities are open to all regardless of race, color, gender, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, etc.
We look forward to expanding our work to Pacific Islander communities across the world.
